Kews spectacular summer flowers are the perfect base for this whole day practical event that concentrates on looking at close up and macro photography. We look at the techniques necessary to be able to get stunning results all handheld.
Any EOS camera with zoom lenses with focal lengths between 18mm through to 200mm is required for this event. A pair of lenses 18-55mm and 55-250mm for example would be ideal.
A polarising filter is useful, though due to the light loss it gives, we can only use them effectively on a bright sunny day, which in the UK can never be guaranteed.
If you do own extension tubes, close up filters or a macro lens, then these will be useful but not essential for the day.
