This course combines a short two hour theory session looking at the key techniques behind lowlight and night photography with a practical session where you can try out the techniques learnt in the classroom. We have a small group size of just 14 delegates with two lecturers present throughout the event to provide the maximum help and assistance.
Creating great images when the light levels are low is not easy. One of the major problems is recognising that what your camera sees, especially in lowlight, is significantly different from what our eyes see. During this event we will be shooting hand-held utilising fast aperture lenses and image stabilisation as well as on tripods when the light levels drop even further.
Any EOS camera with lenses that cover both wide angle and telephoto focal lengths, plus a sturdy tripod which is at least 4 feet tall without the centre column being extended, are necessary for this event. A wired remote release for the camera is also helpful though not essential
| • | Utilising high ISO settings | • | Identifying the best times to shoot |
| • | Benefits of low ISO | • | Lighting types |
| • | How lighting changes | • | Framing for night photography |
| • | Exposing for desired results | • | Where tripods give better results |
| • | Utilising white balance overrides | • | Creating special effects in camera |
Delegates get the most benefit from the practical seminars if they have undertaken the core “understanding” courses in our seminar programme as we do not have time on these events to cover in detail the settings on individual models.
Please note that although we will have equipment with us that you can try, you must have your own equipment to use as it is for everyone to share, not for one person to have all day.
