Looking at all the aspects of photographing interiors by available light, this seminar combines a short two hour theory session that explains the techniques that we will be putting into practice later in the day. These events are mostly based in cathedrals and stately homes, although there will be other locations appearing occasionally. We look at a variety of topics ranging from how to cope with the contrasts and colours found in most interiors through to lens selection and shooting angles to get the best possible results. We also look at the differences in techniques required for shooting on a tripod and where the benefits of tripods exist over hand held shooting at high ISO levels. The group size is kept to just 14 and we have two lecturers available throughout the day to provide help and guidance.
A camera with lenses that cover both wide angle and telephoto focal lengths, plus a sturdy tripod which is at least 4 feet tall without the centre column being extended, is necessary for this event.
| • | Coping with variable lighting | • | Learning to see wide tonal range images |
| • | Utilising the ISO setting range | • | Using tonal range for effects |
| • | Utilising lenses for effects | • | How to get the required depth of field |
| • | Benefits of bright prime lenses | • | Utilising the cameras metering |
| • | Interpreting what you see into an image | • | Framing and composition |
Delegates get the most benefit from the practical seminars if they have undertaken the core “understanding” courses in our seminar programme as we do not have time on these events to cover in detail the settings on individual models.
Please note that although we will have equipment with us that you can try, you must have your own equipment to use as it is for everyone to share, not for one person to have all day.
