A practical day out with a professional model, usually at an urban location with a variety of backdrops and lighting scenarios.
We will demonstrate how flash can improve your portraiture and how your flashgun works. How you use the ambient lighting is just as important as the flash light, as is the use of lenses in creating different effects with your pictures.

| £185 | Advanced level A good understanding of both the basics of photography and the major controls on the camera and how they work is essential for these events. These events are designed to give an in-depth understanding, building on the knowledge you already have. It is important that delegates attending any of the flash events have both the basics of photography and the key settings on their cameras mastered. We will assume a competency of the level of delegates who have attended both the Understanding your digital EOS and the Making the most of your digital EOS courses. Please look at these courses in the prospectus and ensure that you meet these requirements. | Canon Digital EOS cameras only. A flashgun is essential which must be a Canon EX series gun and an omnibounce diffuser of similar is useful. Lenses for the full in flash portrait and general and interior photography can be just the normal wide and tele zoom combinations found in most outfits. For the close up and macro event a macro lens is required, or zoom lens with tube or close up lens and the ability to take the flash off camera via the speedlite transmitter or off camera lead is useful. We do have a limited amount of flash and macro equipment available to borrow on the day but this needs to be “booked” at the time of booking as there is a limited amount available. |
